After many years of researching sunscreens and their negative effects on our health, we decided to test and develop an all-natural, all-organic, reef-safe, and most importantly, human-safe sunscreen so that people can interact responsibly with the ever-important sun. Our products are developed and tested in the thin air and altitude of Lake Tahoe (6,225 ft). Sun Milk products are 100% sourced and made in the USA. Sun Milk is a trademarked brand.

We've spent the better part of 2 years researching and testing various natural and organic ingredients with the goal of creating the perfect sun care for your skin, combining protection, usability, and simply how well it smoothes onto your skin and feels. We believe, and our users testimonials support, that we've found the perfect set of ingredients and ratios to achieve that goal.Ingredients: Organic cold pressed coconut oil (fractionated) *SPF 2-8, Organic unrefined cold pressed red raspberry seed oil *SPF 28-50, Organic cold pressed sweet almond oil *SPF 5, Non-nano & uncoated zinc oxide powder *SPF 55, Organic unrefined cold pressed carrot seed oil *SPF 38-40, The "ish" in our SPF is because some of the ingredients have a natural SPF range. Our ratio of those ingredients for our first product pencils out in the 28-32 range, hence 30'ish.

Our sunscreen is made with 100% natural ingredients, free from synthetic chemicals, parabens, and artificial fragrances. Unlike 97% of the sunscreens on the market, Sun Milk is 100% carcinogen-free. Sun Milk is simply 4 natural oils and non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide, which, unlike normal zinc oxide, is clean, healthy, and good for your skin and body. Even our production process, storage, and bottling is cleaner than any other sunscreen on the market—no plastic and no aluminum, ever.

Absolutely! Our sunscreen is 100% reef-safe. It contains no oxybenzone or octinoxate, two harmful chemicals known to damage coral reefs. We only use natural oils that are safe for both your skin and the environment. Not only is Sun Milk reef-safe but it is “human safe.” Many “reef-safe” sunscreens still have multiple carcinogens in them, Sun Milk does not.

Yes! Our sunscreen is formulated with gentle, non-irritating ingredients, making it suitable for sensitive skin. It is free from harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives that can cause irritation. Always perform a patch test before applying to larger areas. All of our ingredients are also non-comedogenic, so Sun Milk is wonderful for your face as well.

Mineral sunscreens leave a white residue. Tallow, beeswax, and shea butter sunscreens are hard to rub in and often leave a residue. Sun Milk was developed and tested to do away with these issues. Once you “shake to milk” your Sun Milk, it will come out white, but as you will see and unlike our competitors, Sun Milk blends perfectly and easily onto your skin leaving no residue. Many of our customers have said they’ll put it on just because of how amazing it makes their skin look and feel.

I love using this after-sun spray not only after a day at the beach, but anytime I want to feel refreshed. It’s incredibly cooling and gives my skin an instant pick-me-up. Sometimes I spritz it just to re-energize myself, and keeping it in the refrigerator adds the perfect extra kick — it wakes me right up!

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this sunscreen because of the tint. This stuff works really well, it doesn't feel greasy on my skin and the tint is almost like a translucent glowing bronze. It's enough to give your skin a slight glow like a very light sunless tan, but without the opacity. My fair skin is left with a very unique glow. There is nothing like it. I find myself even using this at night over my moisturizer as a serum. The owners of this company care about their products and stand behind them and I feel like this is one purchase worth the extra splurge . P.s the tint would blend and look beautiful on any skin tone. I’ve never found an spf like this before and I love it. It’s like a bronzer with spf. It blends in seamlessly with my medium toned skin. I love that it is a thin consistency instead of thick and sticky like other natural tinted sunscreens I’ve tried. My new favorite, I plan to order more in the future. Hello! Floridian here and with summer most of the year, I needed a natural “sunscreen” with real ingredients and this does that. Thank you for making a non nano zinc that doesn’t leave a white residue and hydrates my skin. I have had melanoma and want to make sure I’m as chemical free of bad seed oils and toxic ingredients. The Sun Milk Promise of 100% Natural and Clean

Our mission is to bring a 100% clean and healthy product line to the World. As mentioned, mainstream sunscreens are starting to be exposed for their harmful ingredients and effects on our health. The same is happening with plastics and aluminum. Long thought and believed to be "safe", the research shows that plastic and aluminum are leached into whatever liquid is contained, and we are thereby ingesting those dangerous compounds that further break down our health.

At Sun Milk we only use glass, metal and wood for storage, processing, and production. Once we receive the few ingredients that are not shipped in glass, we transport them to glass and wood containers. Most are in glass but we are still looking for vendors that also refuse to use plastic for the few ingredients that currently come in plastic. Our goal moving forward is to cold press and make our own ingredients so that we can take 100% control of delivering a completely clean, healthy, and safe product line.

Now, truth be told we're using plastic spray nozzles. Unfortunately there's not much to be done there unless someone can point us to a company that makes metal, glass or wood spray nozzles...so until then, we have to use the absolute minimal amount required of plastic.
